Toby Rhodes (England based)
Toby has over 10 years experience as a creative learning, change and organisational development consultant, Toby is capable and confident operating at all levels, from board level to front line staff. He brings a high level creativity, humour and energy to the design and facilitation of consulting, organisational change and team development activities.
Formerly Director of Learning and Development for Wizards, one of the most creative consultancies in the UK, Toby has led creative experiential learning projects with blue-chip organisations at the highest levels, including: NHS, Bank of America, BP, Aviva and Royal Mail.
Some creative approaches Toby has successfully employed with clients include: rich pictures and cartooning, mask making, using metaphor, sculpture, picture making and story telling, chocolate making, film making and banquet making.
Toby combines creativity with analytical strength. He is skilled in data analysis and the design and implementation of measurement and evaluation programmes, using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, and a range of methods including focus groups, surveys, diagnostic interviews and observations.
His recent studies includes gaining a deeper understanding of behavioural economics and a behavioural approach to managing performance and understanding why people do what they do. Current study areas include using storytelling in leadership and “wicked” or fuzzy problem solving – developing collaborative techniques to help organisations and communities deal with their hardest problems. These include: problem analysis, dialogue mapping, scenario development, rich pictures and “open” workshop techniques such as World Café and Open Space.
